2009年10月16日上午，由瑞士文化基金会、江南大学、无锡广播电视台以及无锡博物院等单位主办，江南大学设计学院承办，同济大学、南京艺术学院、中央美术学院、广州美术学院等四所高校协办，诸多单位与媒体支持的CRISS & CROSS合X-POWER “跨界与融合”设计作品展暨国际学术论坛于无锡博物院隆重开幕。中共无锡市委常委、市委宣传部部长王立人，江南大学副校长王武教授，瑞士方面嘉宾，各大高校代表以及设计学院广大师生等出席开幕式。
上午10点整，开幕式正式开始。无锡广电集团党委书记、台长严克勤同志首先致辞，对到场领导、嘉宾表示热烈的欢迎，并期待在无锡广电建台60周年以及广电文化活动周之际，展示无锡市广播电视传媒新的魅力，为无锡文化事业做出贡献。
江南大学副校长王武教授代表全校师生祝愿此次活动取得圆满成功，并在发言中指出，此次设计作品展暨国际学术论坛将对无锡发展为设计名城起到十分重要的推动作用。
瑞士文化基金会中瑞创新艺术项目总监介绍了瑞士“由创意点亮设计”、传统与当今丰富文化相结合的设计理念以及著名的瑞士设计品牌产品，同时对江南大学制作此次中英文版本画册表达了深深的感谢。
瑞士副总理事石韬先生对著名护照设计师Roger Pfund的到来表示欢迎，并对此次作品展以及明年参加上海世博会作出展望。他指出，此次展览不仅仅是产品的展览，同时也是瑞士150年来涌现的设计理念的展示，即经济工艺、舒适功能、智慧幽默。他代表瑞士方面感谢主办方的努力付出，并祝愿江南大学与瑞士苏黎世大学的合作能一如既往地成功。
10点40分，“跨界与融合”设计作品展暨国际学术论坛开幕式圆满结束。绚丽的礼花飞向天空，领导、外宾以及前来参展的师生及市民开始进入展厅参观。
本次活动主题为“跨界融合”，其内涵丰富：跨文化交流，跨地域沟通，跨时代整合，跨专业合作。“跨界与融合”，可以说是任何一个行业发展到一定阶段的必然选择。在原有知识和资源被充分发掘和利用之后，跨界自然成为推动设计业创新发展的必由之路；另一方面，在社会进步、阶层分异、亚文化崛起等因素的驱动下，消费市场的边界同样越来越趋于模糊，这也为设计的跨界融合提供了良好的土壤。在此次与瑞士苏黎世大学的合作中，两地不同文化与设计理念得以沟通融合，江南大学对无锡设计教育以及设计文化的传播贡献了自己的力量。

Maybe if they cut down on their smoking they could afford the prescription to help them quit smoking. They have to want to quit or nothing is going to work. You know second hand smoke is said to be worse than what the smokers are sucking into their bodies, but they are doing it by choice, the public gets second hand smoke by their choice not ours.
